Domaine Durand is a family-run estate counting around 20 hectares of vines managed by two brothers, Eric & Joël Durand.
The production is based on three Côtes du Rhône crus: the Saint-Joseph cru around the villages of Châteaubourg, Glun and Guilherand-Granges in red and white wine, the Cornas cru and the Saint-Péray cru. Lastly, a production in IGP Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah and also with the Viognier varietal complete the range.
The different varietals (Syrah, Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier) are planted on the steep granitic hillsides of the right bank of the Rhone River and on some calcareous foothills (Saint-Joseph white and Saint-Péray).
The search for the very best balance of the vines in their environment paves the way for the perfect expression of the estate's different terroirs. The various growing techniques performed by hand, as well as the search for optimal ripeness of the grapes allow the creation of rich wines that respect tradition.
Finally the ageing method reveals all the personality of each terroir, giving these wines to lay down the qualities of finesse, smoothness, elegance and force to offer maximum pleasure on tasting both for the young wines and after a few years of laying down.
