In 1994, Stéphane ROBERT created the Domaine du Tunnel. He started out with 2.5 ha of vines on the right bank of the Rhone River, in Ardèche, in the appellations of Cornas, Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph. The cellar is located in the heart of the village of Saint-Péray.

In 2013, the estate extended its range with an additional AOC: Condrieu.

In 2014, Stéphane rehabilitated a tunnel in Saint-Péray, in the area called 'Barras', to set up a winemaking and ageing cellar in it. At the beginning of the 20th century, this 170m-long tunnel made of cut and dressed stone was used by a steam train linking Valence to Vernoux en Vivarais. The cellar overlooks the Rhone Valley with a stunning view of the Château de Crussol.

Today, the estate covers 12 hectares spanning the villages of Saint-Péray, Cornas, Glun, Mauves, Tournon sur Rhône and Chavanay.

The wines are principally made with the grapes of old vines growing on the hillsides or terraces, in granitic soils.

The varietals grown are Syrah (Cornas and Saint-Joseph), Marsanne and Roussanne (Saint-Péray) and Viognier (Condrieu).
