Situated in Tain L’Hermitage in the Rhone Valley, for over 210 years, the Maison M. CHAPOUTIER wine estate produces great wines with respect for the natural balances and the terroirs in which it has blossomed. The estate was given a new impetus in 1990 with the arrival of Michel Chapoutier who notably brought a biodynamic approach to the vineyard. The Maison M. CHAPOUTIER is a pioneer in this field and has made it the key principle of its philosophy.

The company has always attached great importance to respect, starting with that of the Earth: it chose, 30 years ago now, to tend to its vines using biodynamic practices, i.e. working the soil with a minimum of inputs, no chemical products, in order to underline the singularity of the terroir and bring out the best of it. And the winery wants to highlight this terroir even outside of French borders since the Maison M. CHAPOUTIER has extended its estates to Spain, Portugal and even Australia! So, it now owns around a dozen wine estates around the world.

It has also distinguished itself by its innovative initiatives focused on sharing such as the creation, in 1996, of the first wine labels in braille and the establishment of the 1st contest for the Best Sommelier Student in Wine and Spirits in France to encourage people to learn this profession and perpetuate this job that is fed by passion. Today, Mathilde and Maxime have joined the company to continue the family tradition.
